Giving Thanks

We definitely have a lot to be thankful for in 2012.  Thanksgiving week was wonderful!  I couldn't ask for a more enjoyable week spending time with ALL of our family and wonderful friends.

Gentry's beautiful baby quilt Aunt Madelon and Mamaw made.  We chose the fabric back in May so I was so excited to see the finished product.

Random Happenings

We made our first road trip with G last Sunday to Beaumont so she could meet her extended family.  I forgot to take a picture before we left our house and forgot when we got to Beaumont, so this is the best I could do while in the car.

 And it was Patton's first time to share the backseat--he didn't seem thrilled but he managed:)

We had such a fabulous day and can't wait until Thanksgiving to see everyone again.

Halloween was pretty uneventful around here.  We only had a couple of trick-or-treaters and way too much leftover candy.  I received the cutest onesie/ballerina outfit at one of my baby showers and it made for a great baby Halloween costume.  

We decided yesterday we were so deprived of our beloved Mexican food that we would take a chance while she napped and go for a quick late lunch.  She was great...

We had Gentry's newborn pictures taken when she was one week old and I finally received the photos and OMG--they are fabulous!  Erin Carlyle at www.erincarlylephotography.com is AMAZING.  Here are a couple of my favorites...

Can you believe it's already November?  This is my favorite time of year, but the temp. could drop a little (ok, a lot to make me happy)!  Oh well, I cannot wait for Thanksgiving--my favorite meal of the year shared with family and great friends.

She's Here!

Finally, she's here!  On September 28th (her due date) at 12:12 a.m. Gentry Marie Lawson arrived.  She weighed 7 lbs. 13 oz. and was 20 3/4 inches long.

My last day in the office was Wednesday the 26th and she allowed me to have one morning at home before contractions started.  I guess one relaxing breakfast at home was all she planned for me to have:)

September!!!

Finally, it's September--the beginning of my favorite time of year!  Football, cooler weather (well, maybe not until the end of the month), Lawson family birthday month and the holidays are just around the corner.  And most importantly this year, Baby Lawson!

36 weeks.  Almost there!

Baby Shower...Round 2

Another baby shower has come and gone and WOW, I really do have the most amazing family and friends.  My friend, Jen is a fabulous baby shower hostess and planner and could not have planned a more fitting party for me.  My favorite food, my favorite desserts and even my new favorite "mocktail".  A big thanks to Jeff's sisters, Melissa and Kim, and my mother-in-law, Holly, who also had a huge role in making the day so special.

The shower was held at Jen's mom's house on Lake Conroe, which made for a beautiful setting.

Jen served all of my favorite appetizers--dates wrapped with prosciutto and filled with cheese, caprese salad, almonds, cheese, grapes and honey, blueberries, strawberries and raspberries and more!

We also had a cotton candy machine to make pink cotton candy but I somehow forgot to take a picture of this:(

The most amazing idea for a baby shower activity--onesie decorating table!  Genius!!!

Jen bought (and dyed light pink, dark pink and purple) different size onesies (so glad for the different sizes) for guests to decorate for Baby Lawson.

The silver tray contains different iron-on appliques and the black plastic objects next to that are letters.  She also had paint and stamps for people to use.  I am still in awe at what a great idea this is.

One of the most exciting parts of the day (at least for me) is the cake!

The cake was so beautiful and delicious!  I am so excited to have the bottom layer in my freezer to eat as birthday cake next month:)

Diaper Cake

I didn't get a great picture at the shower, so this picture will have to do.  I am certain I have enough #1 diapers to last quite a while:)  Being the great dermatologist she is, Jen included baby sunscreen, pacifiers, toys and soft stuffed animals.

The most fabulous diaper bag

For two girls that know zero about diaper bags, Jen and I managed to pick out this beauty.  The brand is Timi & Leslie and this bag has everything you could ever imagine needing or wanting in a diaper bag.  And the best part--it doesn't look like a diaper bag:)

If you have kids and have never heard of this product, you must check it out.  These great little labels identify bottles, sippy cups, etc and come in different colors.  I received these as a gift from a friend.  www.inchbug.com
